MUSIC MORNING: MORNING TELEPORTATION

Posted by guest writer Carly Black
Ever heard of a little band called Morning Teleportation? No? Well you should have. Why? Because they're quickly emerging onto the indie rock scene, having just wrapped up a US tour with everyone's favorite, lo-fi indie, rock outfit, Modest Mouse and before that, served as supporting act to new fan favorite Cage The Elephant.

FLICKR FRIDAY: DANY PESCHL

Whoops, we just realized we forgot about Flickr Friday last week. Excusez. But today we're going to make it up to you with this one, #6: Dany Peschl. Unfortunetly his email-adress didn't work (Dany, give us a shout out!) so we have zero info. But images say more than a 1000 words...

MUSIC MORNING: THE POWDER KEGS

The Powder Kegs are a pop trio from Philadelphia via NYC, featuring Dan Maroti on vocals, guitar, and keyboard, Ryan Dieringer on vocals and bass, and Sam McDougle on drums. Their rootsy pop rock & roll bends genres, and calls to mind personalities like Beck, Elvis Costello or Paul Simon. They're take on indie-pop is eclectic, but grounded by a distinct folk bent.

PHOTOGRAPHER VINCENZO BARATTA

Vincenzo (or Vins for friends) Baratta: a 29 year old, originally graphic designer that was born in Germany, worked for many design studios in Milan. When he attends a photography course in 2009 at cfp Bauer, he slides into the world of portrait photography that best conveys emotional involvement for him. He has a recognizable style, that is dreamy but also in-your-face.

MUSIC MORNING: CHALK TALK

This is what they call a DIY band: Chalk Talk. And they're good at it: within months of forming, the band recorded a six-song demo 'Killing Spree', threw together a dozen copies on their own and hit the road for a week-long Northeast tour. They're now in the midst of a self-booked, month-long tour, taking them across the Eastern half of the United States in support of their latest release The Food Chain.

MUSIC MORNING: GHOST PANTS

This album has been made by one person, that we know nothing about, and is possibly sitting in a flat somewhere in Glasgow with a lampshade on his head and a wry smile on his face. There is NO information about this guy, only the band name: Ghost Pants, and that he's a single Glaswegian with a taste for lo-fi indie-pop and a tendency to wear household objects on his head.

MUSIC MORNING: BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD

Formerly known as Bye Bye Blackbird, Blackbird Blackbird continues to swiftly produce dreamy, psychedelic, & hypnogogic pop music in the vein of chillwave contemporaries Washed Out & Toro Y Moi. Let yourself walk into a dreamy landscape of sound that is as hypnotic as it is catchy, as upbeat as it is ambient. Really a PAMMM! favourite already.

FLICKR FRIDAY: MAURIZIO STRIPPOLI

Flickr Friday has come again, your loyal friend that brings you new talent that strolls around on Flickr. It's #5, and again the talent comes from Italy. Go Italy! Maurizio Strippoli is originally a graphic designer, but photography is the perfect second love. Clean colours are his main inspiration, and that makes his photo's stand out and very recognizable.

MUSIC MORNING: WE SWIM YOU JUMP

We're a bit in a nationalistic vibe (our footbal team from Holland just went crazy in Amsterdam, like they had won the WC. They only won the harts of the fans I think...), because here's another band from the lowlands: We Swim You Jump. Yes, a weird name, but such good music. And from Groningen! It's freaking catchy, and deserves to be listen to. So, listen.

PHOTOGRAPHER PAUL BARBERA

Photographer Paul Barbera works within Australia and Europe. His website contains a barrage of exciting content and projects including the mysteriously captivating ‘Love/Lost’ – an on-going narrative where Barbera travels the world creating a voyeuristic journal of friends and lovers.

MUSIC MORNING: BIRD ON THE WIRE

Yeah, Amsterdam has talent! In the shape of the band Bird on the Wire: two girls and a guy that make pretty music that make you travel a little bit back in time. Think Bob Dylan mixed with a touch of Belle and Sebastian and folkband Beirut.

MUSIC MORNING: MEMORYHOUSE

With the kind of weather that's been in the Netherlands lately, we need some music to chill on. Music to eat BBQ chicken wings and burning on your balcony getting that nice, red, colour on your skin. This band, Memoryhouse, succesfully combine ambient soundscapes with Denise Nouvion's crystal-clear melodic vocals and have released a couple of great tracks in the past couple of months.

FLICKR FRIDAY: ALESSIA MARCHIORO

Guess what? It's #4 for our Flickr Friday sessions. Time flies when you're having fun. This time it's Alessia Marchioro, a 28 year old girl that comes from a small village called Ponte di Barbarano in Italy. She currently lives in Milano. Different things and subjects are being shot by her, but with a feminine touch.

MUSIC MORNING: SLOW ANIMAL

New 60's surfish Slow Animal tune that will appear on the B-side of the to be released 7" theFUNsun. When the Netherlands win this sunday (afcourse!), just play this music, drink beer, wear orange, and everything will be allright.

MUSIC MORNING: LAKE RADIO

A little vague and still unknown is LAKE R▲DIO. But I think it's worth the listen: eerie tunes, which will probably fall under the header of 'Witch House'.

MUSIC MORNING: CLOUD CULT

This is a song (and album) that make you're ears drool. Full of energy, and who's saying that you can only bop your head to hiphop?! I bopped it. Definitely. Listen!
